Being a wee bit bored this evening I wondered if anyone had already created a 'best viewed with' badge for Safari.
I couldn't find one, so I grabbed a few UI elements and whipped one up...
Slap this puppy on your site, pass it around, and link it either to a page where you explain yourself or

Dammit I thought web browser badges went out in 94?
And who in the sweet christ would 'optimize' their web browser for Safari?

Well, at least those badges match the rest of the text elements rendered by Safari (uberantialiased).

Saying that one's site is "best viewed with" or "optimized for" a particular browser is saying that one did not code the site correctly.

The OmniWeb badge is more of a promotional thing -- which is how it should be. Claiming that your site works best in one browser (especially one that's based on open source), shows your lack of following standards.

Ok, so my company uses a Microsoft accounting product called Great Plains, and they have a dedicated customer web site with a tech-knowledge database, discussions, etc. Well, sufficed to say, I can only access the site with MS Internet Explorer for Windows (not even the Mac version). Sure MS Great Plains is a Windows-only product, but why should that necessitate that I browse their customer site from a PC and use Internet Explorer. Most of the site is accessible with Mozilla, but there are still incompatibilities that their web dev team apparently doesn't care to address, as they have no interest in serving the 2% of their customers who choose to use another browser. From a Mac, forget about accessing the site in Safari, as the whole content area comes up blank. Ridiculous. I HATE MICROSOFT'S BULL SH*T! Why do they have such an aversion to standards -- oh, wait! We all know that by not using standards, one can manipulate the market and increase ones market share (hence by using Great Plains and its customer web site, you are really forced to use another MS product, MSIE). I hate them.

Omniweb IMO is better than the Safari one. Not too shabby in Omniweb rather than Optimized for Safari. Makes it sound more authentic

EXACTLY, if you have a badge it should say something like MY SITE WORKS WITH EVERYTHING!!!!!
Not, well, if you're using IE, it'll look crappy. Cause it just degrades the quality of your craftsmanship if it doesn't work everywhere.

That's exactly why mine says "savored with" instead of "optimized for" or "best viewed with". My web site is viewable with damn near anything.

If I'm in an "Apple Safari", I wouldn't be so concerned with how well things render, I'm going to have some pie!

I'm with you all the way, people. This is the badge I'd put on my homepage if I could be bothered to make one:

Looks good in all browsers?
Instead of having three badges, you could have one!
