If anyone remembers, Madonna's "Like A Prayer" album had some perfume sprayed on the liner notes. I haven't cracked the CD open in a long time. My sister wanted the album for her new iPod. Sure enough, the perfume has lasted since 1989. I figured it would have dissapated years ago.

Toxic waste goes a long way...

Hoping no Madonna fans got hurt in the process...

Its cool looking through old personal belongings and sometimes getting a smell that takes you back to another time. I have perfume bottle from 1994, the smell reminds me of my teenage years and my first girl....

I would probably be questioning why I had "Like a Prayer" instead of why the perfume lasted so long if I were you...

You were three when the album came out. Who are you to say anything about it?

I want to a Steam Boat museum in Kanas where they had dug up an old steam boat that had sunk and then been covered by dirt when the river changed. They found fruits and veggies still preserved enough you could eat them, along with perfume that was still smelly. Actually, its the oldest sample known to exist due to the fact that perfume breaks down over time. Long story short the reason it survived was because of the lack of light. Light breaks things down. Too bad it didn't break down that damn CD.

Becuase of the laws of physics and such, unless the perfume changed chemically, the molecules are still there ready to evaporate when not tightly sealed up. Thus when you opened it up, there was still perfume to smell. Those are really molecules of perfume going up your nose.

When I saw the title of this thread I though you were referring to "Red Door" or something - a friend of mine uses it for toilet freshner.

Had no idea about the perfume, that's kinda neat. "True Blue" was better, though.

Not long, max about 2 years from opening for "fruit punch" or "Cherry Pie" some of the rarer ones like "Bones" or "Cave" don't last as long, cos everyone wants to sniff them.
