The word 'prostitute' is banned in favour of 'person'

WTF!? You have to love political correctness.

In a dramatic softening of the law on prostitution, only 'persistent' street offenders will face any police action.

The term 'common prostitute' will be banished from English law. Instead, sex workers must be referred to as 'persons'.

In the final act of the Blair Government, Ministers also announced that tens of thousands of convicts who re-offend will receive softer punishments or escape jail altogether.

I prefer 'Lady of the Night'

And I could care less if they reduce punishments for prostitution.

Prostitutes only exist because Johns exist. If there is no market, there's no seller. Yet for centuries we prosecuted the women, who were often victims of circumstance, bad life choices, poverty or even forced by pimps and let the Johns off with a slap and a wink.

There's no good reason for prostitution to be illegal. I should be free to hire a prostitute and bang her in some back alley while smoking a fatty.

The sex drive is an innate human characteristic. That doesn't require anyone to get into the world of prostitution. Besides that, this is the same approach the US has taken to drugs, and it's been a colossal failure. The consumers are far more numerous and less distinct from the normal population than the suppliers. The only way you could ever get rid of the market for prostitutes is to offer government-sponsored whores for free.

On a side note… would you still give the branding advice: "Don't prostitute your brand. Licensing is not free money." ???

Prostitution is actually legal in the UK - as long as the prostitute person doesn't solicit in public or run a brothel.

So, neither in public nor in private, then?

In private is fine, a brothel is defined as more than one person working out of the same location.

No, but "nappy headed ho" is acceptable.

There are an abundance of females in the world. I've never seen the need to purchase company. Just seems like a waste of money to me.

Sex is never free, whether you pay for it with cash directly, or with sanity, attention, and whatever other bullshit women force you to give them.

It takes a lot more time and effort to get a woman the other way without spending any money. I guess it depends on your priorities and pocketbook. (Well, I mean, I've never paid for a hooker, but I'd hope they require a lot less time and effort or they'll all be out of business shortly.)

The philosophy of Clarke Gable (not a direct quote):
You don't pay a prostitute for sex, you pay them to leave after sex.
Sometimes you just want sex. Even going out and bagging hoes at the clubs takes a certain amount of effort and time (not to mention social skills that not everyone has) that not everyone wants to deal with, and there's ALWAYS the risk of clingers.

No, never been with a whore and I don't know if I ever will…but I'm not above it.
Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.
