Just wondering what everyone's favorite type of book. I like Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Rowling, or course, and Terry Pratchett. I also love audiobooks and radio dramas. I'm including those in the poll as well. I also love Shakespeare and stuff to do with Greek and Roman mythos (tragedies, poems, etc.)
Currently reading the 6th Harry Potter book again, then will move onto the 7th.

Shoot. Messed up the poll already. If I could swap something out, I'd change "Biography" to "Fiction (Other)" as Biography could go under Non-Fiction (other).

Sci Fi, and non-fiction seem to be what I read most of the time, and then throw in a technical manual from time to time for good measure

I picked non-fiction & biography, because I've red a few sports books, and they tend to be a cross between the two.

I meant to put a Fiction (Other) in there because I realized that a lot of the classic literature encompasses multiple genres. I just kinda picked a bunch.
Could just make a new poll real quick.

Man, don't I look literate? I 'red' a few sports books. Stereotype incarnate.

Classic German and English literature (e.g. Oscar Wilde, Goethe and so on) as well as books on philosophy and history are my main obsession. I also like witty literature such as P.G. Woodhouse and the like. Not much into Sci-Fi or Fantasy.

Yeah, he's really good. Smart dialog, I really enjoy it. My brother got me hooked on Jhereg back in the 80s. Have all the books up to Orca, but I've since trailed off. Have to pick it up again. I keep hearing rumors of a Jhereg movie, but it never materializes.

I like all genres. If it's a good story, I like it!
Some books I have recently enjoyed:
King Dork
Apathy and Other Small Victories
The Stand
Snow Crash (old favorite)
Legs - William Kennedy
I am currently reading Harry Potter 7, The Road, and Porno (the sequel to Trainspotting)
Some books that I recently hated:
Jennifer Government - boring.
A Million Little Pieces - I guess its not too recent because I started reading it before the controversy and I thought it sucked then. Omitting quotation marks is not creative. Using BOLD CAPS to express anger is not creative.

Just last week I decided I like reading. I went through Sex God by Rob Bell in two days and now I'm working on Blink by Malcolm Gladwell. I'm planning on starting a thread about it when I get done, it's fascinating stuff.

Currently reading the last Harry Potter book, should be able to finish it tomorrow. Normally I don't go for fantasy, but I figured it couldn't hurt. Most recently read The Jungle and Stephen King's The Stand, which was pretty awesome (not to mention my first Stephen King novel). Next, I think I'll be reading iParadise Lost.

You forgot comedy too. I read a lot of Terry Pratchett, but I wouldn't really say that I'm much into Fantasy as such
HP7 was great though.

Yeah, I'm reading Pratchett, too. I meant to have a Fiction (other) option. Maybe a moderator can replace Romance with Fiction (other) since there aren't any votes for that one.

Mysteries are my favorite. Right now I'm reading Dark Tort by Diane Mott Davidson. I'm also listening to the 6th Harry Potter audiobook.

I just finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Today I'm re-reading "To Conquer the Air: The Wright Brothers and the Great Race for Flight."

I used to read a lot, but lately I've been in a not-reading rut. I need to start reading again. I think I'll go and get King Dork, though, I like it already just based on the title!
My main tastes tend toward Sci-Fi and Fantasy (Pratchett, Stephenson, and Gaiman begin high on my list of recent authors), but I've been known to like nonfiction books that tell good stories, too....
