About 10 years ago I entered all my parents' love letters into Word Perfect.

Over the years my copy of Word Perfect was corrupted and died. I never had the initial software disk.

What can I do to rescue these files?

I am on OS 10.6.7 and have Word:Mac 2004 11.6.3

- Download NeoOffice, which is free.
- Open the WordPerfect files.
- Save them as .doc
- Now you can open them with your copy of Word:Mac.

Or just stick with neooffice instead of an old version of office.

And instead of NeoOffice, which isn't quite free anymore, you can go with OpenOffice or LibreOffice.

You could also, after you get them reimported, export as PDF. Then you'll be able to open and read for a long time.
