Not the Apple-done ones, but they were produced by some guy with a DV Cam or something? They were in reference to the 'classified as a supercomputer, not allowed to be exported' thing that Steve made a big deal about back when they were first intro'd.

These particular ones had a black van, car chase, guys in trenchcoats...of course I think they were quashed by Apple legal with the usual promptness. I'm trying to track down a reference to them however...

They did have the G4-tank ad... we can't export to [insert list]... I want that ad

does anyone know if that export restriction is still in effect? won't all consumer computers reach "supercomputer" status at some point, if they haven't already?

They've raised the standard as to what the government would officially call a supercomputer.

However, "supercomputer" status (opinions of old white lawmaking technophiles notwithstanding) is a moving target, simply meaning that it's among the fastest in the world at the time.

The highest-end G4 is outperformed by lowly sub-$600 Athlon systems now.
