I just found out that I got a job in Japan which starts in July. I'd like to buy a video camera to take with me. The thing is I know nothing about the current video camera market, or where to go about buying one from. My requirements are few:
Small
Firewire
Around $400
A decent optical zoom
I plan on using this a lot in a classroom setting, so help me chose wisely.

Why not wait until you're in Japan before buying?
