and there aren't at least 35 commuters piled into the back.

Cheeky Citi golf CTi in front too. I always fancied having one of those back in the UK

Damn you, calverson, and your fancy frod and green trees.

I've just returned from tropical climes. I'm quite bitter, thanks for reminding me why.

Welcome to Africa.
Isn't Africa also home to all the YO-labeled Toyota trucks as well?

I’m more surprised to see that Opel makes pickup trucks. Learned something new today.

This is the beast that I want to get:

I was going to get a Golf V but, due to the scarcity of them at release, they were incredibly expensive. Dealers charged about 40% more than the indicative price, and people still bought them.

Open Europe doesn't do trucks.

So it's a GM truck, with a Opel logo. Kind of odd, but hey...

Heh. Given the pronunciation of "FROD", you'd almost wonder if it was intentional.

Reminds me of something that I saw on a Range Rover. The artwork was excellent, it said : Strange Lover

Made me chuckle anyway.

A bit like "helemaal" in Dutch

I love Afrikaans, sounds pretty funny to us Dutch speaking people because it's so similar.

There is this guy from Holland (I think) at my work who laughs everytime someone speaks the language. He says it is like a "child Dutch".

The red circle is my car, parked in what used to be Transkei. Not so much greenery here.

Is that flagstaff? or nearby?

Here is the transkie as I know it:

A lot more green! I love that place. No power, no cell phone signal, but good seafood and awesome beach.

It was Lusikisiki. Very dusty, very African. I knew a guy there who was an artist, mildly well known at the time.

edit: just found him through the power of google: http://www.samgabula.co.za/studio.htm

Ah. Heeltemal. (This as a first guess from someone who doesn’t even speak the language)

I guess if you’re going to make your cars backwards (well, mirrored) and drive on the wrong side of the road, you might as well go the whole mile and type the brand name on the car half-backwards, too. Sort of makes sense.

Good guess. Now that I look at it, it looks correct.
