you know you can make an a login pic out of damn near anything? It's just a 48x48 tiff file. What I usually do is use IconGrabber to extract images out of OSX icons, use photoshop to resize them to 48 pixels, and voi-la, instant login pic.

www.interfacelift.com has a great library of OSX icons to choose from.

Then he should have said boot panel, as a login picture is a different thing.

If you follow any advice given here follow this: Get ahold of an app entitled Visage. This app is awesome because it lets one personalize and change the boot panel, the login image and the login screen. Like I said, AWESOME !!! To top it off, it's only like $12.95. Now, you mist get a copy of Imagine BootX 2. This little app will let you personalize your boot image and coresponding background. You can use and .tiff or .jpeg file image as your boot image then you choose the background color. Another AWESOME app for personalizing your Mac. Good Luck and Happy Hunting. Peace Out . . .

Actually I think it would be interesting to know what people use as their user pictures - it's one thing that is not shown in the screen shot thread.

I use a King Kong icon for mine.
