Yeah, I was just coming back here to proclaim my stupidity to the world once and for all.
I just ran across it. That'll teach me for using an unrealeased beta! Damn karma!

Don't you guys have that problem with the HUGE font display? IE: That some texts/fonts are rendered huge, so one letter can fill up your whole screen? It seems to be happening randomly at any site, I even had it once on Hyatt's weblog
Anyway, this is the only reason I still haven't switched to Safari...

Strange, happened for me in every build so far and makes browsing virtually impossible, since it happens quite often. I gave up sending screenshots, since I ended up spending more time on sending these than actual browsing...

Anybody having trouble with Safari on a machine that is not +stuffed+ with RAM should take a look at the memory-consumption of Safari, for example using top in the terminal. Having browsed and downloaded on and off for a couple of days, heres what I get :
PID COMMAND %CPU TIME #TH #PRTS #MREGS RPRVT RSHRD RSIZE VSIZE
185 Window Man 3.1% 3:35:09 2 544 849 15.4M- 38.3M 50.4M- 103M-
0 kernel_tas 0.7% 58:44.38 31 0 - - - 60.9M 389M
634 SystemUISe 0.7% 20:59.51 2 157 176 3.64M 6.68M 5.18M 58.3M
2142 Safari 0.0% 2:23:41 23 1319 2694 144M 57.6M 118M 689M
Now, if you still wonder where all those swapfiles come from, stop wondering.
Flushing the different caches with the debug menu doesn't do much good either.
Closing windows helps a little, but to clean it out complely, you'll have to quit and relaunch.

118 MB after several days? That's not so bad, especially given the ease with which you can "reset" it.

I jsut downloaded v64. Pretty cool, but some fonts appear as Helvectica instead of what they're supposed to be. Very annoying, because I hate Helvectica. How do I fix this? I'm guessing there's a .css file inside Safari that needs editing or something.

I've got a screenshot of an example of google shown with the huge font display... I only don't have webspace.... If anybody is willing to host it, I'll send it.
Anyway: I've noticed that IF it happens, it happens with every site I load after it in this window or tab

The huge font thing is caused by setting a style sheet in the Advanced preferences. (In my case it was the ad blocking style sheet mentioned on slashdot a couple of days ago.)
There IS a bug in safari that once you set the style sheet you cannot remove it. You can choose "None Selected" from the style sheet menu, however, safari still uses the style sheet. If you delete the style sheet file, then safari will hang every time you load a page. Presumably looking for the missing style sheet.
Dragging your safari preferences to the trash will exorcize the evil CSS beast and return you to browsing normality.
Now if there was only a way to block ads without resorting to crude hacks.
