Apple & Google merger. Good idea? Or bad?

First just let me say that I have no inside info. I'm just playing fantasy M&A.
What do you think about Apple and Google merging? They're two comapnies with a similar corporate culture and who obviously have great respect for each other.
Their product offerings do overlap in small places -- gmail vs. .mac, iPhoto vs. Picassa, etc. -- but mostly they seem to complement one another pretty well. And even where they do overlap, ultimatley those technologies could benefit one another (Google as Spotlight engine?)

Really ? Whodathunk. I've yet to see one of Google's products come out for OS X.

Must have missed that. But even so, I don't consider Google and Apple so much alike. Google is actually more and more becoming the M$ of the Internet. So I really don't think Apple and Google would go well together...

I can see Apple buying TiVo long before they merge with Google.
