I got to thinking about our SETI efforts. If we're right about advanced alien civilizations out there, they probably have a research post or three hidden somewhere on Earth already. And anyone studying us would certainly get an internet connection.
So any alien researchers, or student assistants, please feel free to post here. Contacting us directly would save us a TON of electricity, not to mention time. We'd like to meet you.

Assuming they have a research post somewhere, it has to be against their regs to open contact. So we need to pin our hopes on the undergrad assistants getting drunk, or losing a bet amongst themselves.
