A lot of Mac users were asking me how to install it, so I just decided to put it up on these boards. If you don't know what Cosmos is (and you play World of Warcraft), it's basically a bunch of scripts that add a cool user interface to your game screen, such as extra ability bars, detailed information about your character (and others), built in battle shouts, mini games, etc.

Go to the link above and download the latest version (I got the beta they have), and copy everything from the "Interface" folder to the Interface folder in your World of Warcraft folder. Yeah, pretty simple. Enjoy.

I'm Jansar on Whisperwind (Alliance), by the way.

I prefer to pick and choose individual addons that give me what i want. I find the feature set of Cosmos completely bloated.

when I used cosmos, my WoW stability when to hell and I kept getting random crashes, deleting cosmos and the WDB and WTF folders fixed it.

I'm sorry to hear that, you guys. So far, Cosmos has worked for me. However, I have heard many people experience crashes through it, and I hope they release a much bug-less version soon.

I've been using the beta version of Cosmos for about two weeks now on my PB 15 (1GB RAM, 128MB VRAM). I haven't run into any stability issues other than an occassional scripting error when clicking on the General chat tab (it goes away if I try it again).

I find that it does everything that I need and it hasn't impaired my ability to play the game for hours on end.

I'll give some of the other addons a try though, I'm always open to better ways of doing things.

All installed and working. I have had some sluggishness today, but that seems to be normal on tuesdays. I will keep using this for a few weeks. I really like the additional bars as I play a shaman and have a lot of spells to manage.

Instead of cleanshot, just do ctrl-z, then F13.

You might want to look at "Mozz's Mods" (MozzBuffTimers).
He took Telo's bufftimer and tweaked it a bit.

BottomBar downloaded fine yesterday.
I'm not sure if i'm going to use it. I dont like how everything (chat) gets pushed up. I usually dont need that many spells at one time. Maybe i'll use it when i get higher level (i'm 17 mage now).

I initially had Cosmos installed but, to be honest, I too felt that it was a little bloated and I did find it a little sketchy at times. When my Leatherworking Salt Shaker cool-down (3 days!!) animation didn't work I decided it was time to try something else.

Here are the mods that I currently use:

BuffTimers: shows time remaining on all buffs.

Clock: converts server time into local time. As much as I would love to play WoW 24/7 there are times when I need to know when to unplug.

MapNotes: allows to place notes on the World Map - awesome for marking locations of out of the way NPCs who hand you quests who you will later struggle to remember.

QuestMinion: part of Cosmos actually that I got really used to. Fortunately there is a stand alone version. Allows you to easily see what elements of a quest you have yet to complete. very handy.

QuickLoot: always moves the loot window under your mouse. also included in cosmos. Once you use it you can't live without it.

SellValue: phenomenal mod. Shows you the value of the items that you pick up as they would sell from a merchant. Great for those times that your bags are full and you need to decide what to keep and what to dump.

WatchTower: ever find yourself struggling to post to local defense about someone who just ganked you to smithereens? This allows you to target them and press a hotkey - all the information about them (race, class, level, direction of travel) is pasted to channel of your choice (Local Defense, guild, party).

FlexBar: Left the best for last. The best button mod out there and this is from someone who has tried many. Ultimate customizability with your buttons as well as the ability to group buttons, decide how buttons *look*, and have contextual buttons! Want a group of buttons to appear when your health is too low and then dissapear when your health is better? Want all of your tradeskills to appear at the touch of 1 hotkey and then dissapear when you select one to use? This is the mod for you.

All of these mods are downloadable from http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php

stability is a mixed bag it seems. I have yet to crash (plenty of other bugs though) where as cheers crashed at least once a night usually more. Could be anything, ATI Vs NV, G5 vs G4 etc...

lots of good looking stuff there iloop, been enjoying cosmos but miss not having time remaining on buffs. But once I get into the game I'm far to lazy to go in, out, in, out finding all the interface tweaks I need.

What's the mod that puts timers next to your buffs and shows you how much longer they're going to last?

Iuse allof 'Telo's addons'...

He updates them all the time, they are stable and overall I find them much better than cosmos.

Well worth a look...
