Then you have nothing to worry about. You won't be getting Leopard until it's publicly available in October.

Since you're not a developer, you're not supposed to have it. Therefore, you're out of luck and are violating the policies of these forums by asking for help.

While cleverly editing out your "hypothetical situation" and adding some incoherent rambling at the end should get you out, I believe the situation is this: You downloaded the Leopard WWDC preview without in fact checking that it was the preview from the LAST WWDC, and not the current beta

AFAIK, the new Leopard Beta is not out in the wild (yet).

And you did say you had it. When you replied to my first post stating that you won't be getting it until Oct., you said you already had it.

Btw, it won't work in Parallels.

i am not sure how getting beta is violation?? i am not a developer but want to help. how to I signup for leopard development?
i've participated in many beta programs... you can play with them and review them to support the project. i did that with few games too.

The folks at WWDC got an early copy still in development. The real one after all the testing is coming in October. Currently you can't sign up for beta testing Leopard.

You have to be a registered developer with Apple in order to get a copy of the beta. They don't treat it like Microsoft does.

Leopard will be released to the public to buy in October. Until then, you have to be a registered developer to get a beta version.

But of course, the beta will be on the torrents in less than 24 hours, and many people will download it and install it illegally.

The beta of Leopard is NOT for the general public. That is why it is a violation for anyone that is not a registered developer to use this beta.

Go here if you want info on becoming registered.

As a registered developer I don't have access to the beta. It was only given out to WWDC attendees.

...but it will be seeded eventually. There's usually a delay of a few days between the handout after the keynote and it appearing online.

This beta of Leopard is available *only* at WWDC, according to Jobs.

After actually watching the keynote, I don't think he meant other developers are going to be cut off. The comment was just with regards to why Apple released a Safari beta — so everybody could get a taste of it rather than just those who received Leopard at the conference. As Art said, there's usually a delay, but it probably will show up eventually.
