Okay, there are some anit-gun folks on this forum, but I am going to assume I am not the only pro-gun member. With that assumption in place, lets see your guns people. I'm always up for some gun xxx. I'll start:

Not the best shot and not all of them but it's a good start to the thread. Oh, and the bipod is only on so I could prop the AR up.

Haven't had to use the thermal detonator yet though. Let's not forget the BlasTech E11.

I do appreciate a sense of humor. And the "fire-arm"...that would suck...bad.

I prefer to keep what I own out of the public eye. However, I hope, someday, to be able to locate a Sterling SMG to purchase. This is the firearm that the Star Wars "E11 Stormtrooper Rifle" was based on, and they used quite a few of them in filming the original movie.

I had to give back my M16-A2 rifle when I came back from Iraq...and I didn't even get a picture holding it while I was there. So no picture. And it's not even "mine". Oh well.

I'd would rather have carried one of those. They're smaller and lighter. Carrying around an M16 everywhere you go gets annoying after a while. Especially when you're a medic.

We just have to cut back to where it all started, the single jump-off point: letting women out of the house to begin with.

The 5.7 looks and feels like a toy to me. I can't take it that seriously. Is the HK91 yours?

Perhaps not compared to an M16, but it's a great little platform and fun to shoot. Mine is a Saginaw Steering Gear model from 1943 (they were all made during WWII).

Oops, the first two are, when I said a couple of mine i meant it literally.

The 5.7 is really a dream to shoot, such low recoil and then there's the high capacity. It's also an extremely loud gun, plus the huge muzzle flash which is all to your detriment if you're on the receiving end. Then there's the round itself which packs a pretty good punch and tears some pretty impressive cavities in gelatin blocks. The AP rounds are even more impressive and, while expensive, aren't hard to acquire.

The HK belongs to a friend but its a fun gun so I put the pic up. It's actually not a 91, rather it's an HK21 or HK21E, I forget the details. I think he paid between $5000 and $9000 for it, fixed a feed problem in about an hour and now has regular offers for upwards of $30,000.
It's pre-ban, selectable full-auto and a hell of a lot of fun.

Why? You planning on attacking one of them?

Definately not, I wouldn't attack anybody... but what if as I reach around to hug my girlfriend it looks as if I'm pulling out a [insert threatening weapon of choice here] and I get popped in the head?

Or what if I trip, fall into someone carrying a gun and as it wasn't properly holstered and I get shot in the [insert area of body of choice here]?

Or what if someone who owns a gun gets [insert temporary mindset change of choice here] and does something they'll really regret?

Or what if some kid steals his parent's gun and... ya da ya da ya da.

What's the real-world benefit of carrying a gun around on an average day (or even owning one) other than adding to the possibility of violence?

Convince you to own one, or to carry one around while grocery shopping? Two very different things.

In fact, in the original movies (well, the original versions of them), you can see the blanks flying out of the top - they actually shot blanks, because the slight recoil made the guns seem more realistic.

I think I'll stay away from guns - even with blanks.

I'll echo an earlier question: why carry a gun with you every day? Is your job such that you may need to shoot someone? What situation do you expect you might need to use it?

In the "special features" stuff that came with one of the Star Wars DVD collections (I can't remember which), there's original footage, particularly of the chases in the Death Star, where you can see not only empty cases being ejected, but wadding flying out of the barrel. Obviously they were VERY CAREFUL on the stage! The smoke from those blanks was pretty nasty too, and you can see it in the special feature as well.

Brandon was killed by an incompetent gun wrangler (that's what the people in charge of guns on set are called). And if I remember correctly that guy went to jail for his incompetence. As I mentioned above, you MUST be exceptionally careful when dealing with guns on set because you want them to LOOK real but not hurt anyone. The wrangler on the set of The Crow was not, and Brandon paid the price. The whole industry has been overhauled since then, and NOBODY gets to touch anything unless some really serious people (who will knock you down if you look sideways at a "real" gun on set) say it's ok.

On October 16, 1991, George Henard drove his truck into a restaurant (through the wall) in Waco, Texas, got out and started shooting. He killed 23 people, wounded 20 others, and then killed himself. A number of people there had firearms in their cars for various reasons. If only ONE of them had actually taken a gun into that restaurant, they may have been able to stop Henard quickly, preventing the massacre. The state of Texas instituted a concealed handgun carry law specifically because of this incident, over the governor's veto.

It should be noted that until very recently (the VT shootings), this was the most deadly shooting incident in U.S. history. "If you do not learn from history, you are doomed to repeat it."

Smart. The way things are going, whatever you legally own now may very well be illegal in the near future, so posting pics of your weapons will only get you in trouble eventually.

I've noticed on all your threads/posts if somebody doesn't fit the exact mold of how you think everybody should be, they are stupid, or losers, or idiots. I don't have any guns, so I'm just making a general observation. You need to get out of your damn house more, and not be such a conceited prick. Have a great day, cupcake!

Why would it not be legal? In fact, people who own automatic firearms (not "semiautomatic," I'm talking about "machine guns") are some of the most law abiding people around. You spend (I am NOT making this up!) $15 THOUSAND dollars for a registered M16, and you think you're even going to think about doing something illegal? And why should an AR-15 be illegal? Because it looks scary? That's the crazy ****.

Yes, I get worked up about this, because the Second Amendment is part of the U.S. Constitution. I spent over two decades defending the Constitution so Americans could sit around in Starbucks and complain about "how horrible things are" while they don't do a darn thing to help anyone else in the whole world. I BELIEVE in the Constitution, and, in spite of the fact that there are a lot of people whom I don't think deserve its guarantees, I will NOT sit by and allow this sacred document to be degraded by ignorant and bigoted people.

Well, some people, such as myself, carry a firearm for exactly the reason you stated. I work in a field where my job can and has led to attempted retribution from the client population.
