Okay, an Intel Mac is finally in our future at home. I have a PB 12" already but the wife isn't ready to leave windows 100% (have a hombuilt PC as well). So to satisfy her I will put WinXP on the new computer. The question is do I go with Parallels or BootCamp? If it matters we are looking at a Macbook.

Parallels sure would be more convenient because you wouldn't have to restart the computer just to use Windows. You also wouldn't have to partition your HDD, and you can keep Windows installed in a disk image.

Bootcamp for games, parallels for everything else. Why not just keep XP on the homebuilt until she's sure she can make the move?

Not really into computer games so that almost makes it easy. We're giving the homebuilt away to someone who really needs it but can't afford to buy a computer, otherwise that would be the best route.

Both. Set up a bootcamp partition and have Parallels use that as it's VM. That way you can use Parallels for the convenience factor, but if you ever *have* to boot in to Windows you have the option.

Since version 3.0 of parallels seems to be buggy and problem ridden I'd stay away from that until a bug fix is released.

It seems like that's the way to do it.
