A little smaller would be nice. Regardless of speed, who is gonna post if the first pics entail scrolling across the entire screen.? You can't see anything.

I keep watching to catch a little gecko that is always running around my apartment.

Then again, I also want to catch one of those little kittens running around my neighborhood as well...

I miss my cat...

She's a great dog. I've read a lot about basenjis online, and found that:

• A tired basenji is a well behaved basenji. They have a lot a lot of energy.

• They generally ONLY breathe through their nose!

• They NEVER bark. Silent. But they yodel when you leave the house, and it's louder than heck!

• They don't like water. Jayla (that's her name) needs to be convinced to go out the doggy door
to pee when the grass is wet. She's 2 years old and will pee in the house rarely.

Having said that, the last one in particular, she's a little crazy. Probably because she mirrors her owner's personality a bit. I'm sure there's better and worse behaved basenjis out there.

I think she's awesome, and I'd consider getting one when I get my own place. And I've always been more of a labrador kinda guy.

Read up on them, they're fascinating!! (They used to chill in Ancient Egypt and all around Africa. They were hunting dogs way back when.)

Cats make better pets for young, urban professionals. We don't have the time or yard to treat a puppy the way it should be.

A cat needs a yard as well. Keeping any pet on an appartment or somewhere where it can't go out is a crime.

Our cat doesn't want to go outside. We'll leave the front door open and she'll just sit at the threshold looking out. Besides, she became an indoor cat after first being a barn cat when she was just a couple months old because she got really sick and couldn't stay outside.

(I agree with you though. To be honest, I'm not all that keen on the idea of owning animals at all.)

Thanks! He's a lot like a Persian, but is actually called an Exotic Shorthair, although his hair isn't really all that short. BTW, the cat mentioned in that Wikipedia article is related to Nouri some how or another.

I love cats and dog with those squishy wide grumpy faces. I have always wanted a Persian but I feel so bad about getting one from a breeder when they are so many homeless "regular" ones at the shelters.

Some day...

I got Nouri from an organization that rescues cats. The way they explained it to me is that Nouri was destined to be a breeder cat, who would have pretty much spent his life in a cage. So they arrange to have a certain number of these cats sent here for adoption, where they sell them without papers to raise money for the organization. I also adopted another kitten at the same time that had been abandoned.

I loooove cats mostly because they are clean, smell good, and are really independent and not so clingy like dogs.

I also loooove dogs but there are a few things that keep me from getting one.

First, I am out of my house at least 9 hours a day so it is not fair to leave a dog alone for that long. I'd feel odd about sending it to daycare.

Second, the smell. Even when they are clean they still have that dog smell and for some reason I can't stand it. The face licking sorta grosses me out also.

Third, I think I would go nuts if every-time I turned around the dog was right behind me. I need a fat lazy one that doesn't care about current events.

If I finally do get one I want either a: Bulldog, French Bulldog, Pug or Dachshund.
If I lived outside of the city I would get a golden retriever, husky or German Shepherd.

This was my cat Gambit. He died a few years back, but he had a great personality. The milkman brought his daughter to see Gambit a few days after he died because he said Gambit was always there to greet the milkman whenever he came by.

We also had a guy who wanted to trade the labor he was doing for Gambit.
