Unless you have a lot of complicated playlists, I'd throw away your current iTunes library files (inside your music folder), load up iTunes 4, and then drag your music folder onto iTunes to recreate the library.

It's corrupted. Erase it from your iTunes Music folder and this time remember to back it up now and then.

a.) i don't have any complicated playlists, infact i only have two right now
b.) i trashed the library files and it still wouldn't load
c.) 25.54GB free on the HD
d.) i guess i'll start backing it up, i've never done it before and i've been using itunes since day 1
any other suggestions?
edit: apparently when you have several folders named iTunes, each of which with different iTunes Library files, it tries to read different ones and i couldn't find the right one to delete. Everything working now. thanks all.
