Hi all,
I have dual 1.8Ghz PowerMac which is my main computer, I also have an old Linux PC that mostly stays off. I am looking to do some embedded Linux work that really requires a Linux host (I've tried to do it in OS X). Since my PowerMac has far more CPU power than the PC it would be best suited to this work as it requires lots of compiling. However I would like to avoid having to install Linux on it for this task. Ideally I'd like a solution like VMware or user mode Linux, where the virtual environment isn't entirely emulated like Virtual PC. Is anyone aware of anything that might permit this? I have tried emulation with Q (OS X port of qemu) and it is probably slower than the PC. If all else fails I can use the PC but it would be nice to avoid it.
