Hello all - Has anyone ordered from Small Dog before? I've always kept an eye open to them and stumbled upon this deal that expires on Saturday.

MacBook 13" 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo 1gb/80/SD/AP/BT white, Office, 512MB Flash Key - $1289.99!

Apple Store prices this out (with Edu discount) to $999 w/out Flash Drive and Office. Office I believe is due to be upgraded early 2008 and Flash Drives are dirt cheap, plus I wouldn't get my free iPod with Small Dog.

Thanks in advance!

p.s. it's either this or a cheap dell laptop to hold me over until the desktop dies and i can get a new iMac!

And please notice which forum you're in when you post stuff about specific computers. THIS forum is about MacBook PROs, not MacBooks.

I've ordered from SmallDog before, and they're great! I still have a tiny jar of maple syrup lying around from when I ordered my wife's TiBook years and years ago....

Surely this was just spam? The deal makes no sense?

Not spam, just an odd thing to bring up here-and an odd way to do it. SmallDog is reputable and quite a good deal-maker at times.

I got this MBP from Smalldog. They have been very nice in all respects except that at the time I bought this they wouldn't have sold the MBP to me online. That is only due to the Apple contract they have and can sell Macs online to existing customers. I don't know if this has changed though. So it was a friend of mine who bought it online for me.

Another point: they had charged my friend's CC twice a couple of years ago when she bought something from them (around $100). She didn't noticed it at that time but they sent her an email at the end of financial year when their accountant found it out and returned the money.
