But that's never going to happen.

With 2.5 weeks left to another Apple product announcement, it has never been more clear that the smartphone market has topped up and matured. An iphone 4 would be all everyone wants, except for the issues worked out on the 4s, and the ios bloat that will require an iPhone 5 to run comfortably.

Iphone 5 with no contract on craigslist, or iphone 5s with 2 year contract? No RDF or TV campaign is going to sway people to the latter.

I bet you're wrong on the latter point.

It depends on who you are and whether you are never bothered by contracts.

Oh yay! I love Godfather's prediction threads!

Last one was really amusing, and he actually got two out of nine right:
http://forums.macnn.com/89/macnn-lou...3/#post4234458

Also, he predicted the iPhone 5 would be the massive failure it turned out to be:
http://forums.macnn.com/103/iphone-i...e/#post4191030

And this, despite the fact that it was going to be waterproof!
http://forums.macnn.com/103/iphone-i...ill-waterproof

And another, outright stating as fact that the iPhone 5 will tank as no other Apple product before:
http://forums.macnn.com/103/iphone-i...noozy-keynote/
(This one is actually really funny in its disconnect.)

THIS IS FUN!

You'd make an excellent stalker.

That took all of two minutes to find and sift through. They're on the first page of results when you search for Godfather's posts by just tapping on his name at left. And I have a bit of a memory for some of the more ridiculous or stupid content posted on these boards.

He doesn't do much else.

You're being very generous. Most stalkers won't share their secret stalker methods like that.

It sounds like he's still trying to insinuate that the 5 has no physical advantages over the 4/4s, only additional processing power. Which is hilarious. Every time I pick up the wife's 4 I can't believe how bulky, awkward, and heavy it feels compared to my 5.

It really only has the weight advantage.
And a bigger screen.
And LTE.
And 802.11n.

None of these things are particularly useful.

You may be surprised by the iOS 7. iOS isn't bad, just a little creaky.

I've got the dev preview installed at work. There's some nice stuff in there, for sure.

subego was joking.

Are you seriously trying to claim that vaguely remembering your previous crap and tapping on your username and then on "Search all posts by The Godfather" constitutes "stalking"?

All the posts I linked to are right there on the first page.

Absolute disgrace?

Uninspired?

In-RDF'able?

Shark-jumpy?

Hold me back before I sign that 2-year contract with Verizon! I get $250 for my i5? So generous!

You decide

At least we got low cost, but no word of battery life...

Cost is the same as it was before, AFAICS.

Longer battery life was mentioned for both the 5C and the 5S.

And of course, twice the CPU, hugely improved GPU, a motion sensor chip that doesn't require the SoC to wake up, additional flash, 120 FPS slo-mo video, better camera sensor, and biometric security that may make this phone not only an option, but a REQUIREMENT for certain jobs, are nothing worth waiting for.

I guess if you just ignore everything apart from the one thing you got wrong, and the one thing you didn't know about even though it was mentioned, it's completely ho-hum, eh.

Thus I decide.

Wait, did that happen today? Sigh.

Used to be a time I wouldn't have forgotten. Not a diss on the iPhone, just getting less and less interested in these things in general. They all work just fine.
