That reminds me, I have to cancel my account.

None anymore, or for the last couple of months. Sure, it can be fun, but it just takes too much time away from real, worthwhile activities. I'll stick to those, and some casual gaming on my 360.

Wow, this is the best ca$hturbaition I've seen in a while.

Anyway, I work two jobs, so I don't even have enough hours in my day to consider the latter options. I still like WOW all right, though. I never got the raiding burnout like most people.

I don’t play it (I don’t play any computer games), but I have a suitemate who probably played it at least 8 hours a day, every day last quarter. This quarter he plays it a little less, but only because he fills up the remaining time with Warcraft.

my experience with it as well.

Though, I am sure it must be fun. A lot of people have dropped out of the gene pool because of it.

I play 1-3 hours per day these days. Well, actually I've been out of town on business all damn week last week so I haven't gotten to play the Burning Crusade expansion yet. And actually, its felt pretty good. I am debating whether or not I'm even going to go back to playing when I get back home on Wednesday. I want to check out all the new stuff and all that. But that game is so easy to get addicted to its scary. I feel like I've sort of kicked the habit by being forced to be away from it for a while, so I may take advantage of that and not return.

But only time will tell. What is the saying..once an addict, always an addict?

Never touched the thing. I know for a fact that I have a pretty addicting personality, so I've gone out of my way never to go near it. I just don't have time to get a full-fledged WoW addiction.

I've played it a little. I haven't been convinced to actually buy the game. It's just not that fun for me.

I do not play any games on my computer (the advantage of growing up with Macs). I've seen some which looked fun, like Sims, but I can't be bothered to buy it and get into it.

A friend of mine recommended WoW to me. He mentioned it helped him quit smoking. I decided to avoid any game more addictive than smoking.

My brother played for over a year straight. All day.

He accomplished nothing in real life, but in WoW he was a feared and RESPECTED warrior.

He finally quit though and got a job.

Definitely. But WOW is to videogames what SUVs are to transportation: Usually loved by fat people with low self esteem that have to find something else to pretend they're tough.

I found World of Warcraft to be extremely boring. It was like a 3D Diablo II, except only mildly entertaining and it cost a lot of money.

I guess "a lot of money" is relative. It costs me more to drive to work once than it does to play WOW for a month. If $13 is prohibitively expensive, yeah, it's definitely a good decision not to waste your food money on video games.

$13/$2/gal = 6.5 gallons * 20 miles/gallon = 130 miles to work each day???

Never even tried it. I still play NWN between 2-4 hours a day. I prefer the NWN community over the WoW community from what I hear. I don't speak 733T or whatever that well. I prefer my RPing over pure hack n slash (Diablo 2 excluded).

It dropped to $1.90/gal this week. When gas prices are dropping I try not to put too much gas in my tank each time I fill up.

i dont have the motivation or attention span to invest that sort of time in a game on a regular basis. the only video-gaimng i do is when im either too tired to go out, or the weather is too gloomy/cold to hit the surf.

Those of you investing 2+ hours per day in computer game land...

...do you *know* how many chicks you'd score after a couple of years' worth of putting that same time into a guitar?

Yes, that's right. Put that time into learning an instrument and you'll have boobies galore. Put that time into an online game and you may gain the respect of some geeky teenager half-way across the other side of the planet. Take your pick.

Heh, I've put more than that into the guitar. I'm still useless at it. Clearly not my instrument, unfortunately.

Actually, two of my friends got extremely hot geek girlfriends from playing WOW. (I was skeptical until I met them, but it's actually true.)

I've never played any MMORPG in the past until WoW because of one simple reason, it's from Blizzard company. Any other MMORPG, I would have not played at all but Blizzard always delivers high quality games.

That said, I saw the harmful effect WoW had on me though but it's not necessarily because people who played it have low self esteem.

Haven't touched WoW since June and don't care to come back although I miss my friends. I'll just wait for Starcraft 2.
