Verizon is going to start selling the iPad through its' stores on October 28th. They will only be selling the WiFi version and bundle it with their own MiFi 3G hotspot. The cost for the two items will be the same as for the iPad 3G models. Verizon will also offer a monthly 1GB data plan for $20.00 with the bundle.

I wonder if this what the CEO of VZW meant when he said he had to earn the ability to sell the iPhone, that is start selling the iPads before being blessed with the iPhone

The iPad on Verizon makes much more sense than the iPhone. Since the iPad is a data-only device, then it can be used on Verizon EVDO without the worry of making a call and using 3G at the same time. No phone calls, no problem. For those that are not aware the EVDO on Verizon allows only use on either voice, or data, but not both at the same time.
