wait... you`re telling me the J-man wasn`t white with blue eyes! Nooooooo! You`ve taken away the meaning to my life!!!!!!!!!

I`d get facial hair, but my kids at school find it all too funny when they notice my facial hair is a different color from my head hair. (Lord knows I have enough junior high school kids pulling on my ARM HAIR out of amusment.)

i agree it seems like widespread image of him with long hair that it's the "norm"

but isn't that a misreading for most people? like thinking he looks like brad pitt but is really ...i don't know...just asking

Isaiah 53, describing Jesus prophetically...

1 Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground.
He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him,
There is no beauty that we should desire Him.

3 He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
I believe that the modern interpretation of Jesus' image is taken mostly from paintings drawn by Renaissance artists. At this time, a feminine look was all the rage, soooo...

[EDIT] - Another note: since there aren't any drawings or paintings of Jesus until hundreds of years after his death, where do you think this modern image of Jesus came from? I'd love to hear any theories you might have.

Also, in many Renaissance paintings of Jesus, take your hand/thumb/finger and cover up the lower half of his face. Everything besides the beard is the face of a woman. I'm not saying that proves that the artist is a homosexual, but I am saying that it's odd, and one should wonder why it is.

I get that here in Hong Kong, little kids swim up to me in the pool and see how much chest hair they can rip out in one go.

Abundant chest hair...I feel your pain. My wife forces me to keep mine clipped down to about a centimeter long. I hate chest hair, but I don't dare shave it - I feel kind of naked when it's either shaved or stubbly.

Is the the gray/black deal, or is it simply different shades of a color?

My hair is all brown, but the facial hair on my chin is Duracel copper-colored. I'm half Irish, and every bit of it is focused on my chin, for whatever reason.

It's gettin' there.

Keep up the good work during Movember. Any thoughts on your desired final look?

I myself was too much of a pussy to shave (read: lazy) which is why I have a beard.

And congrats on your upcoming 1k (even if it is the second time around)

With and without the beard, which was grown for a drama (thereby permissable???) The facial hair definitely added some years, IMO.

Um, clipped down to about a centimetre long? Doesn't that give you a more or less perpetual rash?

Nope. That's how I avoid the rash. Any short and then it breaks out.
