So, I have this slideshow project that I'm working on. I have about 120 Photo to Movie documents with the same names as the images within them. I use Photo to Movie to get quality Ken Burns effects (which iMovie seemingly cannot do).

Anyway, I was looking for a particular file of the form DCS##### where the #s represent any combination of numbers assigned to the image by the digital camera. Since all the images start with DSC, i figured I would just type the number. Spotlight didn't find the file! I found it manually in the folder. I even opened up the document, altered it and saved to see maybe that Spotlight didn't have it in its index. Once a document is altered in Tiger, it should be reindexed and noticed. Still, nothing.

I am able to find other documents with partial file names, but not these with just numbers. Are numbers a special case? If I enter the DSC part and the number, spotlight finds it. How can this be?

How did it come to this? Goodbye PowerPC. | sensory output
