This guy lives some 15 miles from where I am. He and another individual co-invented what we know as voice mail.

Bangin' setup. If he used Xserve G5s he wouldn't need an onsite IT guy, though. He also runs Escient co., or at least used to.

While interesting, you wouldn't find me dead in that setup.

I think the best setup is the one that integrates seamlessly into a well designed room.

My goal with my next system is to have the entire computer "disappear" when not in use. LCD screens that fold away... wireless keyboard and mouse... etc. etc.

That setup looks so uncomfortable. The seat has no upper-back support or neck support. The back of the chair only goes halfway up his back.

when you have that many monitors...

it gets to be a pain to manage all the windows...

but yes, i would not mind having it.

DOG BUKKAKE? do animals bukkake each other in nature? I don't see 10 male dogs gangbanging a hot female poodle and blastin on her face... that's like against nature.

latest episode of this old house took a tour of a new 'future' house. concentration was on the glass and its features. at the press of a button, the glass became opaq and resulted in the 'screen' for projection video. very cool. for example, the wall between the dinning room and kitchen had a large section of glass. see thru one second, video screen the next. the projection was being shot from the kitchen (rear projection) so those in the dining room could watch tv/video/whatever. there was several of these walls. bedrooms, living room, etc.

anyway, long story short. also in the kitchen, on the kitchen side of that glass wall, were smaller panels 3 or 4 down each side. well the bottom one was actually a slot that an lcd monitor would slide in/out for the kitchen computer. very cool. keyboard and mouse came out from what looked like a normal drawer in a cabinet. very neat, clean. no wires. you wouldn't know there was computer there at all.

Drop off an Apple brochure on his doorstep.

he uses an exercise bike as a chair. What a jackass.

.. and unless you're in your elder ages, you probably didn't invent 'voice mail' -- that's probably been around as long as phone operators have... in fact, it has.

Automated was probably .. actually, I know it was, invented in the 70s or 80s.. so yeah.

Fixed. Yeah, I would drop some Apple evangelism on 'im, but his IT dude would ferociously intercept it. And I started to say 'allegedly invented' voice mail. That what he claims anyway. The monitor thing is just OK, I was actually referring to the whole house setup.
