Sorry if this has been posted before but I couldn't find it. I just enrolled in my local community college and it's on the list to qualify for the student discount for Tiger. I went to order it apple.com saw the student price for $69 U.S. but wanted to know if I need to fax apple my student I.D. card or what all do I need to do to order it online?
Any help thanks!

Nope, just purchase it as you would with your school selected and you'll be able to check out with no problems. Worked for me yesterday.

The Apple Web site is amazingly trusting.

Yea the good thing for me is though if they did require proof, I can back up my claim.

So its only $69 for a student over in the US?

Crumbs its about 58 here.. which is roughly $110!

Blimey, could almost buy the full price version for that (which over here is 89 or $168!)

Silly pricing for markets!

It's selling for 89$ CDN here in Canada, with free shipping. However, I never understood why there weren't any discount for high school students. Do they think younger people have MORE cash than people going to college??

I bought my first Mac at age 15 I think and I had to pay full retail price.. Really stupid if you ask me!

Can one get the EDU price at a (Apple) local store by walking in? Or is it on-line only?

If you walk in, you need to show proof such as a student ID. Online for some reason trusts the user and therefore doesn't ask.

At physical Apple Stores, the edu discount only applies to hardware. I checked.

they have schools listed from elementary schools on up... as far as i know. maybe that's for teachers though, and not students. i'm sure the list is the same...
