Domain2049 has recently released another couple of maps running along the same story line as the existing maps. And recently the latest models were added to the website: www.domain2049.com
The game is a contender for Make Something Unreal competition and the maps certainly stand out amongst the crop of other mods.

Features include:
7 great maps, featuring atmospheric environments in our their unique world, inspired by classic movies, such as blade runner, brazil and 1984, each consisting of almost 100% custom content in every respect. All made by the mappers who brought you TacticalOps maps Scope, Trooper + Lazy Waters to name a few.

100% original sounds, all recorded by our sound engineer from real weapons on a firing range as well as dozens of original ambient sounds and effects.

6 original musical scores, composed by Pablo 'Guybrush' Delgado, whos previous work includes the complete score for Atari Games 'Tactical Ops'

Realistic player physics without too much emphasis on realistic damage, allowing an enjoyable arcade style gameplay in environments and atmosphere that is believable.

11 original weapons, featuring realistic firing code, designed to accuratly simulate recoil and falloff rather than relying on "random aimerror"

All original playermodels, skins and animations.

A large library of original staticmeshes and textures to make your own Domain maps.

Unique, flexible objective system: Allows single objective, chained objectives, timed objectives, destroyable item objectives, defense objectives and more (literally dozens of possible mission types including support for up to 4 teams)

Carefully tested and refined gameplay.

Full offline bot support.

Every aspect of the game is optimised for performance to give the best FPS and gameplay on lower end systems.

Destructable scenery, A taste of this is shown in the existing d/l but in future releases more and more of the maps interactive and destructable.

Full mapping documentation to make use of all the features and create your own domain levels.

Mac installation instructions can now be found on the Domain website:
http://www.domain2049.com/

If you can run ut2k3 on your mac then you can run DMN as its less cpu intensive. However there is an expected patch which will improve things further for all ut2k3 mods from http://www.icculus.org/

There are several Domain servers available including one from Jolt. The OAP DMN server runs on Friday (from around 6pm-midnight) and you can take on the DMN developer team on Thursday nights.
The maps are great to look at and don't fall into the map in a box scenario of UT and various UT2k3 mods. Infact the observant person may well pick up on the fact that the maps are linked and the storyline follows through them.

In the latter part of 2003 the team recruited better modellers to improve on weapons, characters and vehicles and these are now coming to fruition.
Whilst the maps of Domain have been given much praise one of the criticisms has been the ingame models and the team were last year involved in recruiting more adept modellers for the characters, vehicles and weapons. After much concept art, discussions and direction the examples of rendered characters have now been uploaded to the domain website. You can grab a glimpse of the USE models here: http://www.domain2049.com/
I think the whole team are excited about the quality of Dedalo's characters and expect to see more of these as the various squads are rendered.

Other development areas are in the single player game; 4 team mode: USE, Corporations, Rebels and Gangs; destructable items and various options available within the ut2k4 engine.

As this is a work-in-progress mod expect to see plenty of extra patches throughout the year, especially at the MSU phase dates approach.

The Domain team are seeking ppl to help develop this game and feel a Mac programmer might help. If you feel you'd like to get involved either pm me or visit the Domain forums.

Thanks for taking the time to read
