Ever since I upgraded to Leopard, I've been having problems with icon previews. The problem only occurs after my machine (Mac Pro) has been on for a while, but is not initially there on startup.
Some icon previews do not appear in column view or on the desktop. In the Finder, the preview column just shows the spinning dial forever and no icon appears. This also happens with audio & movie files, meaning I cannot preview them either. On the desktop, the files just have generic icons instead of previews (which I have enabled). Force-restarting the Finder does not fix the problem.
Is there some sort of preference file that I can trash to maybe fix this problem?
I'm starting to think it has to do with me doing an upgrade install from 10.4.

What kind are the files for which the icon preview doesn't work?
Do you have DivX installed? What are the versions of your Flip4Mac and Perian? Any other QuickTime plug-ins installed?

It's not just movies, it's everything from apps, to jpgs, to wavs.

It sometimes happens to me too. I think it is more than likely just a bug and hopefully 10.5.2 will solve it.
