I know it seems crazy when there is the macbook out there and even powerbooks from the same era, but I believe this is the most beautiful portable Apple designed. I've tried ebay and craigslist (where I almost got scammed!) and haven't had much luck.

That said, I am looking for the last 12" ibook (mid-2005), which came w/a 1.33 ghz G4. I also would like to have remaining applecare on this (it is 2 years old). Ideally it would be in very good condition, have at least 1GB memory and superdrive. I am willing to pay $450-550, depending on condition and whether it has any extras like word or photoshop or perhaps a carrying case.

Someone out there must be about to updrade...

Thanks.

Mark

no 12" ibook had a superdrive standard

you had to do a custom upgrade because apple didn't offer it

The 14" sounds tempting--faster G4, higher resolution, but I really want the portability of the 12"--Any opinions out there regarding a comparison of the two? Also, I've decided that I have to get one with applecare. It is too much of a risk to get a used laptop w/out some extended protection.

How are deals done safely for both parties on a forum like this? Paypal?

Even though it has a larger screen, the 14" iBook sports the same resolution as the 12" (1024x768).
