This is how I imagine the conversation going:

"Take a look at our new bumper stickers. Aren't they great?"
"You do realize that's from /b/ on 4Chan?"
"Huh? What's that?"
"Here, let me show you..."

It really says something about the Tea Party that they adopted the slogan of the biggest assholes on the internet as their own.

The only thing that could make this better is if some 4chan person actually infiltrated the Tea Party and helped get this made into the Tea party's slogan.

If they are anonymous, the tax collectors/ATF agents/UN helicopters can't get them.

Maybe it's an allusion to being the silent majority or something.

I thought that's what the tin foil hats with the tea bags dangling from the sides were for

I'm sure a few of you would rather gag yourselves than visit DailyKos, but they did run an article about it here. Basically, Anonymous found out about this and tore the Oregon Tea Party's Facebook wall a new one. Now the Oregon Tea Party has committed to stop using the slogan, and the Facebook page is gone.

Moral: Don't **** with /b/. Or rather, don't **** with a bunch of computer nerds still living in their parents' basement with nothing to do but troll the internet all day.

Any ramblings are entirely my own, and do not represent those of my employers, coworkers, friends, or species

We are anonymous, we are legion, we do not forgive, we do not forget, expect us?

What does that mean? Like seriously, what the hell is that even supposed to mean?

I'm guessing it means that they are a nameless army who will not forgive the democrats for what they have done in the last year and will remember to vote them out?

Is that it? Because it sounds like the rantings of crazy scary crazies. Could they possible phrase it in a more bizarre and vaguely threatening manner? I'm not sure.

How far up their own asses are these guys?

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

Some other options for inspiration for them to consider:

Last time I checked, we did have some people on this forum who at the very least respected if not support the tea party. Any of you guys wanna chip in your 2¢?

For my part, I wasn't trying to indict the Tea Party for doing anything but being unintentionally hilarious, and I try not to go around slamming them unless they really deserve it. This is especially the case considering how unstructured they are. What makes them the state representatives for the Tea Party of Oregon? I can't imagine it's anything more than a small group of people declaring themselves as such.

But ignoring that, and the unfortunate implications of its origin, I can't say I like the violence implied by the quote.

I definitely attribute this to the locale and not the supporters nationwide. I wouldn't be surprised if all of 5 people had input in this. I should see if there's an articles on how this was received by members within the state.

Still, I'm curious why only a few people found this funny. I didn't the think the PL was that ill humored.

Yes.

1. There is no such thing as "official Tea Party" - that sorta negates the purpose
2. Its Oregon, what the hell else do you expect?

Awesome, I've not heard Oregon slammed before, but I'm on the east coast anyway.

To take this to the next level they should make Bigfoot their mascot.
