I now have to use it for work email. It is a pain to use, much like some aspects of iOS 7. It is just too flat. It is difficult to find out the name of the sender, subject title, and other information. I need parts of it to stand out more. ugh.
Anyone else use it? I'm assuming it is similar to outlook.com, which I have never used.
This flatness UI aspect of technology today has got to change.

What version of the web app are they running? I have Outlook on my work laptop but if I'm checking my work email from my home PC it's via Outlook online. They just upgraded the mail server in the last few months so that I can actually search for emails. That's right, in 2014, there existed an email client that didn't have search capabilities. I'm pretty sure Hotmail in 1997 let me search my inbox, but for some reason the last version of Outlook online couldn't.

my company uses exchange for web access. It is pretty clunky (there is search, but you can't sort the results etc)

I frequently use OWA, it has its quirks but it runs a helluva lot better than the POS called Outlook for Mac.
The search tools are poor, accessing email and organizing is slow even on a nuclear powered Cray computer, and shared calendars actually work, so not so bad.

I am not sure how to check. Overall, it is miles better than using Lotus Notes from 1997 (which I was last using believe it or not), but still really stinks in UI. It is too flat.

We recently switched to Outlook at work. It's not too bad, actually. The extremely white interface without button borders etc is not what I'd consider natural, some things are hidden in insanely stupid places (Renaming a .pst is insanely strange. Go to File -> Info -> Account Settings -> Account Settings (yes, twice!) to open a modal dialog box from the nineties, then click tab "Data files", select the file and then "Settings" in the button bar to finally reach the box to do the deed. Rightclicking the file in the main window and selecting "Properties" gets you to a spot where it seems to be possible, but if you click that text box, it only beeps at you.) and a couple of standard commands seems to have been forgotten along the way, but you can really configure it to be productive.

The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.
