i just got my mbp back from apple. it had the nvida chip issue.
i had removed the hard drive 6 mo ago because the mbp stopped working
so when i got it back from apple repair it had no hard drive. would boot to white screen with ? folder.
got a new drive wd 250 gb and installed it .
tried to boot from osx dvd but it looks like the dvd drive is broken.
so i booted the mbp in to target mode and connected it to my g4 mbp.
g4 found new drive initalized and setup partition for intel mac.
installed osx 10.4
turned off both macs and rebooted.
the intel mbp still cant find the hard drive i get the same white screen.
what did i do wrong? i tried reseting the pram. i tried booting holding down the option key.
it tried booting from s fire wire drive, nothing same white screen.
also tried usb mac pro key bored just incase the other key bored wasn't working.
help.
could the new logic bored be defective?
Thank for the help , Fred

The 2008 MBP with NVidia needs 10.5.2 or later.
