I promised I would post some pictures of the modifications I have been doing on my Pismo powerbook, and so here they are (I'm putting this in the iBook forum, since there have been several threads here about modifying iBooks, and this is where I first mentioned my project).

Anyway, my mod consisted of painting the powerbook's lid, bottom and trackpad button, changing the color of the apple logo, and installing a new translucent blue keyboard.

Gorgeous. So many of these mods are just "hacks" that make one computer look diofferent from another (a wothwhile effort in its own right). Its clear you put time and effert into this, and the results show. That's a purdy computer.

Pretty nice. I'd like to do something like that to my iBook(if it ever comes back from repairs.

looks tight, im guessing you used that foil paper stuff? hows it stand up to ripping/crinkiling?

It's painted actually -- read the link I posted for all of the details. The paint I used bonds to the plastic well, so there shouldn't be much of a problem with it wearing off.

wow.. i would loooove to do this to my iBook when i get it but I am so afraid that if i void my warranty then my book will die and i wont be able to afford to fix it..
