New iceBook!

I got these CDs:

1) Software Install
2) Software Restore 1/4
3) Software Restore 2/4
4) Software Restore 3/4
5) Software Restore 4/4
6) Applications
7) iMovie (OS 9)
6) iMovie (OS X)
7) OS X (10.0.3)
10) Apple Hardware Test

CD #1 contains OS 9 installer, CD # 6 contains the games.

The ONLY way to reinstall AppleWorks 6 and FaxSFT is to use Software Restore
(1 through 4) and this WIPES OUT THE HARD DRIVE !!!!!

So how am I supposed to reinstall only Appleworks or only FaxSTF when
something goes wrong?

Are you sure you didn't click on an uninstall option?

try digging around the discs for an iso. im not sure how the ones for the p29 do it but older factory discs always had an iso you could mount to your hd and grab whatever you needed off it.

you should check out tomeviewer which lets you extract individual files from the system tomes on the discs.

The AppleWorks/FaxSTF installers are in the iBook Software Install CD, Applications(MacOS9)

Use the software install disk, double click Applications (Mac OS 9) folder, double click AppleWorks 6 folder, use Install-US/Canada to install AppleWorks 6. The Fax stf 6 installer in in the Fax folder in applications as well.

Hope this helps.

Thank you! MEA CULPA, I didn't look deep enough into the "Applications (Mac OS 9)" on the first CD. Yes, there is a full installer of AppleWorks and FaxSTF.

Once again, sorry for the false alarm, and thank you for your help!

Interestingly enough, someone else asked this very question in this thread a couple days ago. I answered it with one simple post. Too bad the MacNN Forum Search Feature is still down. Think of how much bandwidth we could be saving if it were functional...
