Just come into the lounge and got some 'pop under' ads from tribalfusion when opening threads. Took a screen grab:
I'm using OS X 10.3 Safari, with pop up blocker turned on in the menu.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

Not only that, they say they don't want animated sig or whatever in the forum, but deem it ok to have an obnoxious animated banner in every page that is opened.
Might as well have animated sigs.

we'll look into it.
as to animate sigs, that is entirely different. the ads appear at the top of the page (you can scroll down). sigs appear on every post.
ads help keep macnn afloat. sigs do not.
so, as i've said in the past: we will not have animated sigs.

Must admit, that PopUp add is bloody annoying. I supposedly have PopUps blocked on Safari too! But still they come. And it isn't just the lounge forum either, as I don't use it. It happens on quite a few other's

The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.

I've seen that pop up in Firefox and Safari on the mac, and firefox on the PC - all with pop-up blockers turned on. Very annoying.

Yeah I have the same problem, even with Safari's block popups option enabled.

iCab with popups turned off, and Flash turned off too. I've never gotten a pop up/under from MacNN. Unless you count the PM notification popup - you know, the one that doesn't take you to a new PM, even though it claims it will.

Isn;t that a javascript alert rather than a popup? It's been so long since i've had a PM, I can't remember
