Does anybody know of the existance of Firewire TV Tuners?

I know that there are USB tuners available, but I would really like to take advantage of the bandwidth of the Firewire if possible.

i'm interested too,

but i'm quite sure there's no solution at this time...
anyway i saw the usb tv tuner at the apple expo in paris, and i can tell you that,
the "USB Life TV" was very slow in fullscreen.
the "eskape My TV" looked very efficient (even in capture 320x240 30fps), i was really impressed, but it is expensive.

i'm still waiting a better/cheaper tv tuner.

Buy a Video-Firewire converter and then run the output of any VCR into it. The side effect is that you can also watch and record tapes as well as TV.

I spent some time looking at USB/Firewire TV tuners/converters, and I found the best solution. I bought a little TV. It cost less than the good computer-based solutions, has a remote control, it doesn't take any screen real estate, and I can watch it when my computer reboots.

This may not be the solution for everybody, but it's certainly worth considering.

Where I work we use the Sony DVMC-DA2. It seems to work pretty nicely. We use it to do video capture from tape. It doesn't include TV software, so if you want to just use it to watch TV, you have to really run some capture utility and just watch through that. And it's not cheap though at about $400. When we ordered it, the supply was pretty constrained so we had to wait several weeks to get it.

(My TV suggestion in the previous post was for at home.)
