Apparently Kylie Minogue has been diagnosed with breast cancer and has canceled the rest of her tour. I'm not a big fan of her music, but it's sad nonetheless. Hopefully she'll recover completely.

You’re assuming she actually had any breast to start off with.
I dont understand people who wear a crop top... when there's nothing to fill it in.

Piss off. Don't you have some of your girlfriend's lover's underwear to try on or something?

Not that simple. I am rather certain there will never be one cure for cancer. There are simply too many things which cause this disease we call "cancer". Not to say that there won't be cures and better treatments for many types of cancers.

That really sucks. I like her music, and she's really quite beautiful.
Hopefully what she has isn't aggressive and she can be treated with minimally invasive surgery/therapy.
But then again, breast cancer in a 37 year old tends to be a very serious problem.

In case you're not being facetious:
Kylie Ann Minogue (pronounced: /mɪn'oʊg/, to rhyme with "vogue") (born May 28, 1968) is an Australian singer and actress. She rose to prominence in the late 1980s as a result of her role in the Australian television soap opera Neighbours, before commencing her career as a pop singer and recording artist.
Signed to a contract by British songwriters and record producers Stock, Aitken and Waterman, Minogue achieved a string of hit records throughout the world, but her popularity began to decline by the early 1990s, leading her to part company from Stock, Aitken and Waterman in 1992. For several years she attempted to establish herself as an independent performer and songwriter, distancing herself from her earlier work. Her projects were widely publicised, but despite a couple of hit singles, her albums failed to attract a substantial audience, resulting in the lowest sales of her career.
In 2000, she returned to popularity as a dance/pop music artist and became well-known for her provocative music videos and expensively mounted stage shows. Minogue has established one of the longest and most successful careers as a performer in contemporary pop music, and in Europe and Australia has become one of her generation's most recognisable celebrities and sex symbols. In Australia, after being dismissed early in her career by many critics, she has been acclaimed for her achievements; she holds the record for the highest concert ticket sales for a female performer, and is the only female performer to place nine singles at number one on the Australian singles chart.
On May 17, 2005 it was reported that Minogue had been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, and would postpone her Showgirl, The Greatest Hits world tour while she received medical treatment in Melbourne.[1]

While I do feel sad about any human who is afflicted with cancer let me just ask how many kids die due to malnutrion and disease in this world everyday when they can indeed be prevented?

There is a political problem going on there. Saying they can simply be prevented is oversimplification. Cancer is a scientific problem. But neither problem is solvable right now. There has to be progress made, whether political or scientific. We don't bring up car crashes in these threads either. Doesn't mean we don't feel bad.
I know there are many here who contribute to humanitarian efforts.

Hopefully what she has isn't aggressive and she can be treated with minimally invasive surgery/therapy.
But then again, breast cancer in a 37 year old tends to be a very serious problem.
It really disturbs me that women are being diagnosed younger and younger with breast cancer.
Kylie Minogue and guess who else? Amy Osbourne, the Osbourne's daughter, who is only 21. 21!
Then there is Laura Ingraham (I know she's a right-winger, but who cares, really) who is only 38. Melissa Ethridge, 41 years of age, etc.
It used to be that women were at risk in their 50s and beyond.
I had my own breast cancer scare. We had our baby one year ago and right around Christmas I noticed a problem with a breast and had to go to my ob/gyn doctor. (Women's breasts are very lumpy anyway so it's hard to tell what is what as a general rule.) I was nursing my baby so he said, "Oh, it's probably nothing because you're a nursing mother, but come on in anyway and I'll see what I think." It was very subtle, like the size of a pea, and it was hard. I thought he'd say, "Oh, it's nothing. It's from breastfeeding a baby. Go home."
When the doctor says, "Yes, there's definitely a lump there and you need to have a mammogram done right away and have a specialist look at it," you feel your heart drop. It's a terrible feeling.
I had to go to a clinic that specializes in high-tech mammograms because I was a nursing mother and a simple mammogram x-ray machine was not sophisticated enough. I had to see Dr. Sandra Mondro (who actually looks just like Holly Hunter - petite, pretty, and small, but very smart and sharp - she does lectures at Harvard) for a follow-up.
You go in and they can feel the lump and then they do the mammogram along with an ultrasound. You're laying there and they leave and then they come back and you just feel so sick to your stomach.
I was very very fortunate because she came back and said that everything looked fine and they could not detect any calcifications on a mammogram and they could not see any sort of cyst or tumors on an ultrasound. They then sent an official letter to me and trust me, that's a letter that every woman saves.
This is the thing: Every woman needs to go in every single year and get a mammogram done and it's nerve-wracking and upsetting.
However, these new machines can detect the most minute calcifications at a very early stage - sometimes as much as 8 years before they become tumors or breast cancers.
My point is that it is SO very important to convince all the women that you love or care about to go in and get that mammogram done. That is the only way to save lives.
I started getting them done when I turned 28 and every two years after that. Now I get them done once a year.
Just encourage the women you know to get a check-up. Though the self exam in the shower is good (once a month carefully feel the breasts, under the arm in the armpit, using small circles and soapy hands so that the skin is smooth), a mammogram is really the best. It is no longer a disease that only affects older women: It is affecting all women of all ages.
Because you love them, tell your wife, mother, girlfriend, friend, all of them, to get a mammogram done. Most places have programs in place to pay for mammograms for those women who cannot afford it and insurance companies definitely pay for it. It might save a life.
Women whose breast cancers are detected early have a 95% survival rate.

My mom (who had breast cancer a few years ago) works at the oncology dept. of a hospital here, and says it is scary how many young people have cancer.

Wow. Your sensitivity and compassion amazes me and touches my heart.

Okay. You're forgiven then. There is almost some poetry in a statement, "Because I am stupid like the bees." That's almost kind of deep.

Am I the only one that understands what badidea means ? Thinking about the horribleness is not something you do while being a phatologist (or phatologist's little helper), you'll go nuts otherwise.

A "phatalogist" is a pathologist with a typo! Seems like you're not very good in interpreting...

You want a good picture of Kylie? Here you go. Everyone likes Kylie because although she can act sexy and erotic, she is very wholesome and beautiful. She is also a very good person. For years she has been donating her time and money to breast cancer awareness, so it is very sad and ironic that she is now diagnosed with it.
Everyone all over the world loves Kylie. She's like a tiny little angel.
