I had an idea. If you have a broken laptop, but don't have the heart to throw it away as it sort of works, you can make me an offer on shipping and handling/sale price. I was thinking that I would pick up some busted laptops for use with BOINC. These are the requirements:

The laptop does not need to have a working monitor, but if it is broken, it must work with an external. The same goes for the keyboard and mouse. A battery is not required. If the battery does not work, then recycle it and save shipping money (and the environment). The laptop does not need a working disc drive or floppy drive, but if it doesn't have a working disc drive, it needs to have Panther on it. It needs to have 128MB RAM, a G3 or G4 CPU, an ethernet port. It must also include an AC adapter.

I have an eBay rating of 15. This is my about me page: eBay View About Me for tuoder

Now that you mention it, it doesn't actually matter. I guess Ijust figured I would have more luck getting macs here. A PM with details would be a good thing.

All for $75? How many? A picture would also be nice. Missing power adapters need not apply. Technically, all I need is a power adapter, logicboard, and hard drive.

Is this a G3 or a G4 iBook? How fast is the processor?

Is anything else besides the LCD broken? If not, I'd be interested in it for maybe $200 or so?

Thanks!!
Sell or send me your vintage Mac things if you don't want them.

You need to check out his thread again. Just because he is 15 doesn't mean he can't sell stuff. I bought stuff in the Marketplace when I was 15, he can sell stuff.

I sold a book for 5$ when I was 13 in an online forum. The risk is much lower, though. Laptops are a bigger risk.
