Hey guys,

I have a pretty cool homework for Networking class this week. I have to make my MacBook a server with DHCP, FTP, Remote Desktop, and email capabilities.

I'm aware that Mac has built-in FTP and Remote Desktop features, so I'm alright on that part. I really need advise on which programs to install that will allow me to do this.

Any help is really appreciated,
Thanks in advanced,

Hg+

probly too late for you but I'll add it for posterity:

SMTP server:
% sudo postfix start

for imap and pop you have several options:
try
http://www.courier-mta.org/
http://www.dovecot.org/
http://www.washington.edu/imap/
http://cyrusimap.web.cmu.edu/

may be easier to install one of these with darwin-ports
You can take the dude out of So Cal, but you can't take the dude outta the dude, dude!

If you really want to learn this stuff and not just get through this assignment, I'd install all of these parts from scratch, including the ones that Apple has already provided for you.

Thank you very much Gavin and Besson!

I don't need it anymore but I'll never know when I will need this again. Now I know how to do it

Thanks again ~
