Has anyone on here repaired a Powerbook G4? I'm looking for advise before

I start repairing my case. I will be replacing the bottom part of the case,

myself. I have built PC's before but never a Mac. So I'm very nervous

about doing so. It got knocked off my desk, the front (Where the DVD slot is)

got bashed in quite well. I was quoted over $350.00 to have it repaired by an

Apple authorized dealer. So I have decided to repair it myself. I also will be adding a larger

HD (from a 80 GB to a 250 GB) and modding the exterior case ( painting blue).

Any advise would be helpful!

Here are the gory pics!

It's a big job, but if you go slowly, are very methodical, and keep good track of which screws go where, you'll do fine. The bottom case is the base of the computer. You'll end up moving removing every part from the machine and moving it to the new bottom case.

Check out some of the take aparts online, and good luck.
