I have a small problem with the menu bar clock. When my mac (533DP, 9.1) goes to sleep, the clock freezes (on screen at least). I know this because when it wakes up I get a snapshot of what the desktop looked like when the machine went to sleep until the wake process is complete, when the clock automagically jumps to time now.

Except when it doesn't.

Sometimes the clock starts from the time that the machine went to sleep. If I go to change the time, the control panel shows the same time as the menu bar. Something, however, knows the real time, because if I reboot at this point, when the machine comes back up the clock is right again.

Can someone (a) explain this, and (b) tell me how to stop it.

TIA
Chris. T.
