Ok, I have a clients imac G3, 400mhz, dv, slot loading gismo with os 8.6 on it.
I was asked to install more ram, new harddrive and OSX 10.2 on it....
ok. no biggy.
Installed all of it and then while in the OSX installation process I lost power.. After that, I started to reinstall the OS but the imac wouldn't post... Go figure. Hooked up an external monitor and it posted and booted and I finished the OSX installation.
However.. The monitor, displays different colors or rather, it's either a green screen, red screen or blue screen at any given reboot, startup. The external monitor always shows perfectly good color. I know the degauss function is working properly because I can hear it before the gong.
these are the profile:
ROM $77d.45f3
Boot rom version 1.2f2
mac rom file version 2.3.1
video card: aty ,rage 128vr
vram 8mb
video rom number: 113-xxxxx-115
Is this the correct firmware? incompatible video card?
My question is, can I fix this somehow? (the green screen reminds me of the old apple II days)
TIA
