Apple likes to be at the forefront of technology, so it's definitely possible.

I hope so...

I think they'd probably side with Blu-Ray... as Disney is with them, right?

Sure they will....someday.

The cost of hd/blue ray recordable drive cost more that a iMac, I would think it will be awhile before u will see them in a iMac.

When Apple decide to put in those HD/Blueray drive, I sure hope they use something like the LG combo unit instead of locking us in one camp

Not all the time. Remember how late to the game they were with putting CD-R/CD-RW drives in the iMac? And look at how they're waiting for the final version of 802.11n, even though others are already building n-compatible products. I don't think they'll put the HD-DVD and/or Blu-Ray drives in the iMac until they become less expensive and either one format is the clear winner or cross-compatible drives are available. That might take a while.

I'd imagine Blu-ray would go into the Mac Pro first, then trickle down.

I have to agree. Blu-Ray drives are still so expensive. I paid $899cdn for my internal Blu-Ray drive. My iMac 20" only cost me $1699. I don't think they would be able to justify the price.

Especially when a Playstation 3 is about the same price ...
