My Dashboard launches 'blank.' All I get is a greyed screen and the little plus sign at the bottom. When I click the plus, the widgets load on the bottom bar, but when I try to open a widget, it just closes the dashboard. Widgets appear to open but will not run - it'll open a widget, but then exit dashboard and the widget I tried to open is not there.

I tried relaunching Dock, logout, restart... nothin.

nope. fresh install. Also, my Dock can do the 3D glass thing even when it's on the side (can't get the 2D dock at all)

Also, it makes an error sound once I drop a widget (or just click on one) from the bottom Dashboard bar. I'll try to backup and do a clean install in a few days...

It's because you enabled Parental Controls. Yes, enabling it for *other* users affects *your* admin-user Dashboard. Big bug.

There are several threads on Apple Discussions. Here's one big one.

The only known fix is to archive & install, and not use Parental Controls afterward.

I'm going to wait and see if 10.5.1 (coming quite soon, apparently) fixes it before I try that.
