I just bought a refurb 2.2 Macbook. I almost didn't catch the graphics card in some of the cheaper models. In the end, I decided to spend a little more to get the better card. Haven't tried any games yet (need to upgrade the HDD and install XP first) but I'm sure it will meet my needs.

I put UT2004 on my MacBook with a GMA X3100 when running in Windows, with settings ALL on high and native resolution, it runs surprisingly well! There are a few glitches but they may be fixed by a graphics driver update or the UT2004 updates which I haven't applied yet.
I'm off to try it again now.

I'm not convinced that a four year old game running well is really a surprise.

Maybe not to you, but I was expecting it to run like garbage.

Games ≠ MacBook
That said, I recently (1 week ago) bought a black MacBook instead of a MacBook Air as a small, lightweight, full-featured laptop and I really like it. I don't plan to play games, so I'm not at all interested in high-powered graphics. But for office/productivity apps, its a great machine (which is exactly what it was designed to do).

One of the reasons I got a MBP is that I something play games. Not a lot, but sometimes.
You'd be best served getting the low end MBP when a new revision comes out. Install XP on it. Game away.

Plus playing games on a 15.4 vs a 13.3 is cooler too, plus better Frame rate on a dedicated video card , but is it worth the extra 500 bucks jump from a Black Macbook to a MBP? Hmmmm.
