Back before Jag, when one would change the default folder icons, they would also be changed in Mail.app to match, but now they are not. Is there a way to change them in Jag?

If the program has been optimized for Jaguar, it seems like the icons are always in the resources folder of the package contents. I double checked Mail, and they're in there.

Go to mail in the finder and control-click on the icon of the app, show package contents and open the contents/resources folder, replace the files NormalMailboxLarge.tiff and NormalMailbox.tiff with your own copies. I used Can Combine Icons ( 10 $ ) to convert the icons to a tiff and I used photoshop to scale down the tiff file. Lower and upper case are important in the file names !

Bitchin! Thanks again.
One more thing: I notice that the icons are not in the resources for System Prefs.app, any ideas where these may be?

I would imagine they're in the PreferencePane for each one? At least they are for 3rd party ones. I've never looked for the standard ones.

Ah hah. The standard prefpanes in in /System/Library, not /Library like the 3rd party ones. Couldn't find them at first.
