Just bought a Motorola bluetooth headset to use with my 12" Aluminum PB. However, the Bluetooth Setup Assistant tells me that the headset is not hardware that is supported. Does anybody know of a workaround? I would like to use this headset with iChat. By the way, I'm running on the latest Tiger software, and my PB is 2 1/2 years old.

Motorola H300 bluetooth headset here, works fine with my G4 533/10.4.5/D-Link BT120 adapter(the one Apple recommends). I do believe I've updated the bluetooth and its firmware.

I had the same problem. Just had to update the bluetooth firmware on the powerbook, and all was well.

I have a Motorola HS850. I did not have any problems installing it on my G5 or iBook. Which headset do you have?

H700. I installed the firmware update AND ran it! and it solved the problem. The PB and headset are paired....but i still have to figure out how to use it with Skype and iChat. Thanks for all your replies!!

Both iChat and Skype have preferences you can change. As long as your headset is paired, both applications should give you the option to select the headset as the input/output device.
I've used my HS850 with both programs.
