combine xbox 360 gamertag with xbox live gamertag?

does anyone know if you can combine an xbox 360 offline gamertag with an xbox 360 live gamertag. i created the offline one when i got my 360 and just started my free month of xbox live sunday but the gamertags are different. so when i have to use the offline one to play any saved games, but i want all my achievement together on the xbox live profile. any help would be appreciated.
