So I really like the way my MBP's LCD looks, the colors are perfect. However the ACD I'm using isn't quite as nice, all the colors are too vibrant, over saturated almost, and everything is tinted a bit greener than it should be. Is there a way to move my MBP's settings over the ACD? Or is there a better way to calibrate than through the color's tab in display prefs? I don't have much experience with this as it's the first time I've used an ACD, my other monitor had onboard adjustments.

Thanks for any help!

Buy a hardware calibrator, set them both "right."

I was hoping for a solution that was free, such as some way to transfer settings. I'm not so interested in the colors being "correct" as I am them being the same on my ACD as they are on my MBP. My video camera LCD and viewfinder are calibrated to the MBP's display and the footage comes out looking great on my TV. So I don't want to re-calibrate the MBP, if that makes any sense. Thanks for the suggestion though.

It doesn't work that way... the MBP and ACD panels have different physical characteristics (heck, they're even different types of panels), so "copying" settings from one to the other wouldn't do any good.
The easiest (and perhaps only viable) way to make two displays look the same is to make them both "correct."

Ahh, oh well. Strangely enough the display looks great when connected to an old powermac G5, but it looks pretty poor when connected to my MBP. I guess I'll just have to buy or borrow some sort of calibration tool.

Thanks for the help!

Alternately, you could try running ColorSync to calibrate the display to make both match as closely as possible. However, you'll have to take into consideration the viewing angle, brightness settings, and the like. A hardware calibrator is the best way to go, but if you don't have one yet, give ColorSync a shot.

Use SuperCal to calibrate both your displays: SuperCal™ by bergdesign

Works better than Apple's built in calibration.

I've tried colorsync, I've got the display looking decent right now, and I'll give supercal a try. Thanks for the help guys.
